China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo opens in Jinan

The sixth China Intangible Cultural Heritage Exposition opened in Jinan, Shandong province on Oct 23.

The expo, which carries the theme of combining intangible cultural heritage with xiaokang, a moderately prosperous society, is being held online and offline. It will run till Oct 27.

The event aims to showcase the important role that ICH plays in poverty alleviation, rural revitalization and Yellow River ecological protection.

A total of 84 intangible cultural heritage projects and 46 poverty alleviation workshops from across the country are taking place during the exhibition.

The official website of the exhibition was unveiled on Oct 23, offering more than 700 intangible heritage projects and over 400 intangible heritage documentaries online.

The biennial expo has become an important event in promoting intangible cultural heritage. Jinan has been the permanent host venue since the fourth edition.

The event is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Shandong Provincial People's Government, and hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Jinan municipal government.
