Five enterprises from Shandong province were included on the Global Fortune 500 Company List 2020 released by Fortune magazine on Aug 10.

They were Shandong Energy Group, Yankuang Group, Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group, Haier Group and Shandong Iron & Steel Group.

The Fortune Global 500, also known as Global 500, is an annual ranking of the top 500 corporations worldwide by revenue.

Shandong Energy Group, which had a revenue of $51.89 billion in 2019, was ranked 212nd. It has been on the list for nine consecutive years.

Yankuang Group took the 295th spot with an operating revenue of $41.32 billion in 2019, up 23 places from 318th last year. It has been on the list for three consecutive years.

Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group was ranked 308th with $40.43 billion in revenue, down 35 places from last year.

Haier Group was ranked 435th with $29.06 billion in revenue, up 13 places from last year.

Shandong Iron & Steel Group made the list for the first time, ranking 459th with a revenue of $27.76 billion.

A total of 124 enterprises from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong were named on the list. The mainland and Hong Kong have the most companies on the list, topping the United States (121) for the first time.
