Shandong rolls out transport projects for Yellow River basin

Print PrintThis year the province of Shandong will invest nearly 10 billion yuan ($1.45 billion) to improve the transportation network in the Yellow River basin, according to the Shandong Provincial Department of Finance.
A total of 4.4 billion yuan will be used to construct high-speed rail in cities along the Yellow River basin.
The province will invest 4.2 billion yuan to build 73 national and provincial road projects along the Yellow River, in a bid to bring enhanced connectivity and convenience to the area and facilitate its regional development.
In addition, 600 million yuan will be allocated to support the construction of Jinan and Heze airports.
The province will also invest 280 million yuan to improve water transport in the Yellow River basin.
A total of 500 million yuan will be used to help improve Dongying Port and the Shandong section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, in a bid to promote sea-river combined transportation in the Yellow River basin.
