Shandong scenic spots to cut ticket prices

A total of 81 state scenic areas in Shandong province will reduce ticket prices from August 1 to the end of the year in an effort to boost tourism consumption and promote tourism recovery.

According to the notice released by the Shandong Development and Reform Commission and the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the scenic areas include nine 5A-level, 35 4A-level and 16 3A-level ones.

The nine 5A scenic spots will have their ticket prices reduced by at least 50 percent, except for on statutory holidays.

The remaining 72 scenic spots will offer eighty percent off on weekends and half off during statutory holidays.

The original free ticket policy for children, seniors, active duty soldiers, the disabled and other groups will remain unchanged.

The province's scenic spots are encouraged to launch flexible ticket exemption policies for specific groups such as teachers, students and medical workers.

The province also requires that all scenic spots implement strict epidemic prevention and control measures to guarantee the health and safety of the public.
