Shandong promotes summer tourism

The Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism will launch a summer promotion event on July 24 to boost cultural and tourism consumption. The event will last till September.
The cultural and tourism authorities of the province's 16 cities will also launch a series of activities with popular Chinese travel-service providers such as Ctrip and Lvmama and on-demand services platforms such as Meituan.
Shandong will launch six themed tourism products during this promotional period -- a parent-child summer tour, a seaside tour, a self-drive tour, a cool summer night tour, a fitness tour and a rural tour.
Scenic spots, travel agencies, hotels, homestays, museums and other cultural tourism enterprises in the province will offer promotions via online platforms.
According to local officials, about 50,000 cultural tourism enterprises have signed up for the event, offering more than one million products such as tickets for scenic spots, hotel rooms and related vacation products.
Livestreaming shows, discount coupons, product subsidies, short video shows, offline store advertising and other forms of promotion will be launched to attract customers.
The opening ceremony of the event will take place on July 27 in Rizhao with a dazzling display of the province's summer tourism products and online promotions.
