Liu said that at present, many people are still experiencing difficulties in employment, elderly care, housing, education, medical care and social security. Local officials should open more channels to maintain close ties with the people and solve practical issues at the grass-roots level.
"A generation should assume the responsibility of one generation. We should neither let current problems become historical problems nor leave them to history."
Liu said that local officials will continue to follow a problem-solving approach, deepen reform in nine major areas, including public health emergency management, government service process reengineering, and the personnel system, and break down outdated and unreasonable rules and regulations.
Shandong will further its eight development strategies such as replacing old growth drivers with new ones, rural revitalization, targeted poverty alleviation, and building a marine powerhouse to build a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
"Causes are achieved by doing, not by bragging. We shall always take into consideration the safety and necessities of the people whole-heartedly, and regard the work of benefiting the people as a top political achievement. We will pay attention to and share the concerns of the people and create conditions for them to live a better and happier life."
