Jinan plans to promote local retail sale sector development as a further driver to stimulate the city's consumption potential, according to a news conference on April 22.

The city will build five retail commercial areas, cultivate 30 retail demonstration enterprises and support 500 smart stores in communities by 2022.

E-commercial retail sector is seen a blooming development in recent years. Especially during the epidemic period, online retailors played an importance role in ensuring the people's demand for daily supplies.

Jinan will introduce some leading retail companies at home and abroad to advance the city's overall development level of retrial industry. The city will make efforts to upgrade the traditional business and encourage the existing 60 commercial complexes, 60 characteristic blocks, 120 commercial areas in communities to add retail business.

It is expected that the online retail sales value will increased by more than 20 percent year-on-year, which helps Jinan become a leading city in retail sector in China.
