The Shandong Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) held an online meeting on April 8 to discuss the trading of medical supplies and daily necessities for epidemic prevention and control efforts.

Seven import enterprises organized by the BCCCI held trade talks with 12 Shandong companies engaged in the production and export of anti-epidemic products such as masks, protective suits, medical gloves, sanitation products, and goggles.

Yu also expressed hope that the two sides would work to further strengthen communication and exchanges, pave the way for bilateral trade and investment cooperation after the epidemic, and provide more opportunities for Shandong enterprises to explore the EU market.

Latchezar Dinev, chairman of the BCCCI, thanked Shandong for organizing the online meeting and said that Bulgaria is trying to find ways to cope with the Covid-19 outbreak and plans to purchase many anti-epidemic supplies.

He said that the meeting was the first of its kind to be held by the BCCCI and the Shandong Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and that video conference is the easiest and safest way to discuss business and cooperation amid the pandemic.

He hoped that the meeting would result in the development of a platform for enterprises of the two parties to pursue cooperation in more areas.

BCCCI is an independent, non-governmental organization that supports, promotes, represents, and protects the economic interests of its members and promotes international economic cooperation between Bulgarian and Chinese companies.
