With the epidemic showing signs of being brought under control in Shandong, the province has now resumed production in most industries.

According to the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, 99.66 percent of local key foreign-invested enterprises had resumed operations as of March 5.

Of the 44,235 foreign trade enterprises in the province, 39,507 had resumed work by March 5, a rate of 89.3 percent, while among the 12,018 foreign-invested enterprises, 10,968 have resumed operations, a rate of 91.3 percent.

Since the beginning of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, the Shandong Provincial Government has taken appropriate actions to contain the spread of the virus, as well as measures to help local foreign-invested enterprises resume production in an orderly and safe manner, in a bid to minimize the impact of the outbreak.

The Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce also launched 16 supportive measures to help deal with difficulties faced by local foreign-invested enterprises while attempting to resume operations, including labor and supply shortages, especially supplies needed for epidemic prevention and control efforts, and logistical problems.

Local government departments have also adopted a grid service management system and online measures to improve service efficiency.

In addition, Shandong has been promoting investment and cooperation via online meetings. Sixteen key foreign-invested construction projects are already underway in the province, while 66 new project deals have been signed via online conferences.
