Shandong fuels foreign trade amid epidemic

According to the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, as of Feb 18, 29,250 of the 42,780 foreign trade enterprises in the province had resumed work, a rate of 68.4 percent.
National strategies such as local economic and trade cooperation between China and the SCO in Qingdao, the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and national cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones have also introduced beneficial policies and important opportunities for the development of local foreign trade, said Yuan Hongying, vice president of Shandong Academy of Social Sciences.
"If we look at the Shandong FTZ, we can see that 112 tasks and new measures have been proposed to boost institutional innovation and promote the development of an export-oriented economy."
