Shandong county donates 300 tons of garlic to Huanggang

Jinxiang county in Jining, Shandong province, famous for its high-quality garlic, donated 300 tons of garlic on Feb 12 to Huanggang, one of the cities hit hardest by the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak in Hubei province.
According to Zheng Shimin, head of Jinxiang county, the donation was worth 2.4 million yuan ($343,800) and would reach Huanggang city in just 10 hours.
The county also donated 300 tons of garlic to Wuhan, the city hardest hit by the epidemic in China, on Jan 31.
A new round of "pairing assistance" has been launched and 19 provinces are working to alleviate pressure on cities in Hubei province affected most by the epidemic. Shandong and Hunan provinces have been assigned to support Huanggang.
Shandong province has also sent medical personnel to assist with local virus control efforts.
In addition, many enterprises and organizations in Shandong have donated medical supplies and daily necessities to Huanggang.
