Many of Shandong's sister cities, international partners, and regional agencies are wishing Shandong, as well as Wuhan city in Hubei province – epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak in China – and China luck in the battle against the epidemic. 

They expressed their solidarity with China and their willingness to provide necessary assistance. 

Christelle Rouault, chief representative of Brittany Region of France in Shandong, praised China's strong measures taken to curb the spread of the virus and applauded China's sense of responsibility in the prevention and control of the epidemic.  

She said she believed that the Chinese government is fully capable of defeating the outbreak and that China would emerge from the crisis as soon as possible.  

In a letter to the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government, Pornthip Pornchivathip, director of the International Affairs Office of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, said that she believes that amid the said critical situation, officials of Shandong Provincial People's Government are working hard on their related missions.  

She also conveyed her sincere encouragement to Shandong's officials for their earnest devotion and sent her wishes that China will overcome the crisis in a very short time. 

A similar view was also aired by German expert on China, Peter Tichauer, who for many years held the position of editor-in-chief of the business magazine China Contact and since March 2018 heads the press and PR department of Sino-German Ecopark in Qingdao – in addition to serving as editor-in-chief of the newly founded magazine China Insight. 

He said that in the face of the complex epidemic, the Chinese government had responded quickly, released information efficiently and transparently, taken effective measures to prevent and control the disease from the start – and set up new special hospitals to treat patients in a very short time, all of which was admirable. 

"I love my life in China and my work in Qingdao. I believe China will win the battle against the epidemic," he said. 

Tichauer also spoke highly of the efforts of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government. It is delivering epidemic prevention and control information to foreign expats in Shandong in seven languages and has opened 24-hour information and assistance hotlines for them in eight languages.
