Exhibition on Confucius opens at national museum

Chinese philosopher and politician Confucius established a system of thought that defined morality and correct conduct in social relations, becoming an important part of Chinese cultural tradition that still influences people today.

High Mountains, Broad Paths, an exhibition that opened at the National Museum of China on Friday, elaborates on the formation and evolution of Confucianism and its extensive influence at home and around the world.

On show are more than 700 artifacts, historic texts and works of art, mainly from the collections of the national museum; Confucius Museum in Qufu, Shandong province, the birthplace of the great philosopher; Shandong Museum; Palace Museum and Gansu Museum.
