The Yantai delegation attended the 2019 Qingdao Multinationals Summit held in Qiangdao, Shandong province from Oct 19 to 20.

Zhang Shuping, Party secretary of Yantai, met with several leaders of multinational companies ahead of the summit – namely, Kerem Erman, vice president of Delphi Technologies, and Jesper Lars Jos Olsson, chairman of White Peak.

Zhang pointed out that Yantai was among the first group of 14 cities to open up to the world in 1984, and remains an important hub amidst the Belt and Road Initiative construction.

The coastal city enjoys a good ecological environment, flourishing industries and rich marine resources, which has lured many Fortune 500 companies over the years.

The newly-built Yantai Area of Shandong Pilot Free Trade Zone in this August helps the city open itself wider to investment, finance, education and medical fields, and allow more foreign-owned or foreign-funded enterprises to operate and invest in more fields.

Zhang stressed that Yantai has great potential in cooperating with White Peak, Swedish-fund property developer and Delphi Technologies, one of the world's leading auto suppliers. The joint projects in the city are progressing smoothly.

He hoped that the two multinational companies will further utilise their advantages in capital, technology and brand, and invest more projects in the city.

Heads of the two multinational companies expressed that they will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Yantai and strive to achieve win-win development.
