The International Healthcare Industry Conference is to be held in Yantai, a coastal city in eastern Shandong province, on Sept 21.

Jointly hosted by the Global Council for the International Health Industry Forum and the Yantai municipal government, this year's conference is to invite more than 20 academicians and over 80 experts from 11 countries. A total of 1,000 representatives are expected to attend.

Participants will have in-depth discussions on 18 major topics including healthcare, health management, artificial intelligence, medical robots and medical 3D printing  to explore new trends in the development of the health sector.

Luo Jun, secretary-general of the International Health Industry Forum, explained why the conference chose Yantai at a news conference on Aug 7.

Yantai, a coastal city in Shandong Peninsula, enjoys a pleasant climate and also a solid industrial foundation in the fields of biopharmaceuticals, medical rehabilitation, medical education and medical equipment.

Luo said the city is making every effort to make itself an advanced manufacturing city in northern China and to develop itself into a leading city that integrates the vacation, leisure and health industries.
