The 2019 International Summit on Innovation and Development of Youth Entrepreneurs opened in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, on Sept 8 and will run until Sept 10.

This year's summit focuses on how technology and innovation promote industry development and welcomed 823 experts and entrepreneurs from across the world. The event aims to provide a platform for youth entrepreneurs to exchange ideas.

A total of 121 projects worth 231.85 billion yuan ($33.6 billion) are expected to be featured at the summit and will touch on important sectors such as new generation information technology, high-end equipment, new materials, cultural and tourism innovation, modern finance and healthcare.

The Jinan promotional conference of the summit was also held. Wang Zhonglin, Party secretary of Jinan and Sun Shutao, mayor of Jinan took part.

With the theme of "Choosing Jinan for mutual development", the event focuses on accelerating the transformation of old economic drivers into new ones, creating a new opening up platform, promoting high-quality development, and strengthening mutual cooperation.
