Print PrintZizhuan district of Zibo, Shandong province has been promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, fostering new economic growth drivers through a slew of measures to advance high-quality development.
The district has built a good environment for start-ups by offering incubation platforms, talent strategy advice, as well as fund and policy support.
Currently, the district's college students entrepreneurship incubation center welcomes new startup teams. The incubation center is home to over 130 start-ups, offering them customized service with free rent, management fees, and utility bills for three years.
"Most of my team are young people born in the 1990s and the post-1995 generation. I came to the center partly because it offers office facilities and training courses, and partly because the platform built by the government has favorable policies that have given me confidence to start my own business," said Sun Chao, who runs an e-commerce enterprise.
In addition to offering a full range of professional services, Zichuan district also provides policy support. It has set up a special fund with a total scale of 630 million yuan ($88.15 million) to fuel the replacement of old economic growth drivers, leveraging social capital to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as industrial cultivation.
"At the very beginning, we got a seed fund of 3 million yuan, which was the first amount of money that our business received, and we have slowly took off step by step," said Yan Jingchuan, manager of a high-tech start-up.
In addition, the district is advancing the construction of a group of industrial parks, which will inject a new impetus to Zichuan's economic transformation and high-quality development, officials said.
