The 25th Shandong-Taiwan Economic and Trade Fair will be held from Sept 1 to 4 in Weifang, East China's Shandong province, according to a news conference hosted on Aug 16 by the Information Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government.

The fair has been successfully held annually since 1994. It serves as an important platform and driving force for cross-Straits economic and trade exchanges and cooperation.

Supported by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the Shandong Provincial People's Government, this year's edition will be jointly hosted by the Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao Affairs Office under the provincial government, the Shandong Department of Commerce, and the Weifang municipal government.

Themed around "focusing on new drivers and sharing new opportunities," the fair consists of one theme forum, one cross-Straits expo, one cross-Straits agricultural forum, and seven match-making events to boost exchanges and cooperation in the fields of information technology, high-end equipment, new energy and new materials, modern agriculture, healthcare, as well as the cultural creative industry.

The overall exhibition area is 50,000 square meters. At present, a total of 565 domestic and overseas associations and enterprises, including several famous enterprises on both sides of the Straits and Fortune Global 500 companies, have confirmed their participation in the exhibition.

Influential industrial and commercial organizations from Taiwan, such as the Federation of Industries, General Chamber of Commerce, the Council for Industrial and Commercial Development, and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association, are expected to send delegations to participate, with over 400 distinguished businesspeople and experts from Taiwan attending the trade fair.
