Jinan-based information technology company Inspur Group ranked 25th among China's top 100 Internet companies, according to a list released on Aug 14.

The top 100 list was based on criteria including a company's revenue, profit, innovation capability, social influence and corporate responsibility.

Jointly published by the Internet Society of China and an information center affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the list enjoys a high reputation in the field.

Alibaba topped the list, with social networking giant Tencent Holdings Ltd and Baidu Inc occupying second and third spots, respectively.

As China's biggest server maker, Inspur has eyed transformation into a cloud computing and big data services provider as early as 2010, to advance its expansion into the internet industries.

In 2013, it established its first e-government cloud and now Inspur is providing cloud computing services for more than 160 provincial and municipal governments, benefiting 450 million people. It has ranked first in the government's cloud market share for five consecutive years.

Inspur also has joined hands with the Jinan government in building a big data innovation center, which will help promote the sharing of public information resources and provide convenient online services for local residents.

Recently, Inspur Group's branch Inspur Cloud completed its second round of financing, with a valuation of more than 7 billion yuan ($1 billion), making it a unicorn company.

According to Sun Pishu, CEO of Inspur, his company aims to dominate the trade in data in a similar way to how Alibaba dominates China's e-commerce market.
