Print PrintThe acclaimed national opera Yimeng Mountain, which is based on the contributions and sacrifices of Yimeng Mountain villagers in Shandong province during the Chinese revolution, was staged at Weichai Group in Weifang, Shandong province on June 5.
The management team led by Tan Xuguang, chairman of Weichai Group, along with exemplary employees, outstanding Party members, the company's science and technology innovators, and 1,600 young employees born after the 1980's enjoyed a wonderful audio-visual feast, receiving a profound education on the revolutionary spirit forged during wartime that led to the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The opera is divided into six acts with a total of 40 arias. It has won unanimous praise from audiences and experts for its deep thoughtfulness, exquisite art, and excellent production.
During the performance, thunderous applause and cheers filled the hall. Some of the spectators were moved to tears.
When the opera's performers and creators took a curtain call, all of the audience members paid tribute with applause that lasted for nearly 20 minutes.
"Weichai is a State-owned enterprise born in a revolutionary artillery that is growing together with the People's Republic of China," said Tan, "Weichai has inherited the red gene and promoted the Yimeng spirit. It has been focusing on its main business, striving to reach a world-class level."
The red gene that Weichai has inherited for 73 years is in line with the Yimeng spirit. In 1946, Weichai was born in the revolutionary base of Jading in eastern Shandong province. It transported weapons during the War of Liberation (1945-49).
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Weichai successfully produced medium-speed diesel engines, injecting a source of power for the country that was to be revived.
It has since evolved with the country. As reform and opening up policies have been implemented, Weichai has become a model in the reform of State-owned enterprises, accumulating rich experience in exploring reform that could serve as replicable examples.
Over the past 73 years, Weichai has mirrored the developing trajectory of China's manufacturing industry.
For decades, Weichai has concentrated on its main business and devoted itself to industrial development. It has steadily grown and developed into a manufacturing power, revitalizing the national industry.
To break through the monopoly of foreign technology, Weichai pioneered the power assembly technology of heavy-duty commercial vehicles, supporting the rapid development of China's own-brand commercial vehicles and occupying 99 percent of the domestic market.
With a commitment to science and technology innovation, Weichai has gone global.
With advanced strategic vision and strong innovation, it has integrated global resources, mastered core technologies, taken the lead in pushing the industry to the high-end, and injected vigor into China's equipment manufacturing.
Weichai has built an industrial reach that stretches across the world. Its high-end overseas brands perform well. Cutting-edge science and technology innovation centers throughout Europe, America, and Japan have been built sequentially.
Its global collaborative research and development platform is gathering global high-quality resources to build the Weichai brand that resolutely remains "Made in China."
