An exhibition featuring watercolors by local up-and-coming painter Su Xu opened on June 1 at the Tai'an Art Museum in Tai'an, Shandong province.

Twenty-five of Su's paintings are currently being displayed at the exhibition, which will last for a month.

Su, born in 1991 in Xintai, a county-level city in Tai'an, is now a member of the Association of Shandong Young Artists and Qingdao Watercolor Painting Association.

After his graduation from the Academy of Fine Arts at the Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences, the painter has been engaged in art training.

Su's works integrate the features of Western watercolor art and traditional Chinese paintings, with elegant colors and skillful strokes.

Jointly organized by the Tai'an Art Museum and the Taishan Art Academy, the exhibition is part of the city's cultural institutions' efforts to discover and promote young local artists and display their creation and pursuit of art, in a bid to boost the development of local fine art business.
