Zhang Renbing, a 36-year-old born in Heze, East China's Shandong province, is a leather craftsman.
As his family was poor, Zhang became an assembly line worker in a leather factory before graduating from high school. He was self-motivated, hard-working and willing to treat the work seriously. In just two years, he became the worker with the highest wage in the factory.
In 2009, Zhang decided to start his own business. However, during the first few years, things weren't going well. Because of a lack of sales experience, sometimes he couldn't pay workers' wages.
Last September, Zhang accepted a friend's advice, making some videos about how to craft bags on short video platforms. Since then, things began to change.
"Making normal bags is no fun," Zhang said. "I want to make bags other people haven't made before."
By infusing bags with traditional Chinese culture, Zhang received good feedback from buyers. Some people even call him "Edison of the bag industry". Now, Zhang has opened a shop on Taobao, China's biggest online shopping platform, selling original bags to more customers.
