Changdao Island wins global culture tourism destination award

Changdao Island in East China's Shandong province was awarded the "global cultural tourism destination" title at the third China Academy Awards of the Cultural Industry held on Oct 20 in Beijing.
The China Academy Awards of the Cultural Industry was initiated by the Communication University of China (CUC) and jointly established by 25 famous universities at home and abroad including Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Tongji University.
Since being launched in 2016, the event has aimed to provide a platform promoting industry-university-research cooperation in the cultural industry field. It has been dubbed the "Oscars" of the Chinese cultural industry.
Changdao Island stood out from the 20 nominated contestants including Dubai, Qatar, Nishan Holy Land to become one of the three award winners of "global cultural tourism destination".
Changdao Island lies between the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea, and is known for its clean sandy beaches and limestone cliffs.
It was selected as one of China's beautiful leisure cities in 2015. It has 32 picturesque islands each with their own unique features, which attract a large number of tourists every summer. For seafood lovers, the island is home to Chinese abalone, scallops and seaweed.
