The coastal city of Yantai in East China's Shandong province is to host its 11th international wine exposition on Oct 13-15.

According to Liu Sen, the director of the Yantai Commerce Bureau, this year's expo aims to integrate wine with the tourism industry to showcase the city’s wine culture to visitors across the world.

The Yantai International Wine Expo is a significant business and trade festival in China's wine industry. The first expo was held in Yantai in 2007, with a theme of "promoting brands, inheriting culture, and seeking cooperation."

The event was jointly hosted by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), the China National Association for Liquor and Spirits Circulation, and the Shandong provincial government to expose China’s wine culture to the world.

Yantai boasts a grape planting area of 18,666 hectares and 162 wine producing companies with output of 32.61 million tons.

As the largest wine production base in China, the city has held 10 international wine expos since 2007, enjoying high popularity in the wine field at home and abroad.
