The Uzbekistan-Zibo Exhibition Fair for Agricultural Products was held on April 24 in the city of Zibo – located in East China's Shandong province – with the aim of boosting trade and opening up new opportunities for local businesses to go global.
The Uzbekistan Exporters Association signed up with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zibo Committee at the fair to move to Zibo's international reception room.
The facility reputedly plays a significant role as a platform for showcasing high-quality products from Zibo and connecting with global resources.
The Uzbekistan Exporters Association members visiting Zibo this time were mainly engaged in agriculture and food processing. They brought products such as raisins, dried plums, walnuts, almonds, chickpeas, freeze-dried sweet melon and lemons.
Zibo has a long history of trade with Uzbekistan. In 2022, Zibo's trade with Uzbekistan generated a total import and export value of 360 million yuan ($52 million), an increase of 57.2 percent year-on-year.
The signing ceremony is seen as being a testament to Zibo's commitment to promoting economic cooperation with countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
