These days the Zibo High-tech Zone – a sci-tech industrial zone located in Zibo city, in East China's Shandong province – is going from strength to strength. It was established in 1992. The zone is dedicated to promoting technological innovation, research and development and high-tech industries.
The industries that are primarily located there include electronics information, biomedicines, new materials and high-end equipment manufacturing. The zone is home to a number of leading companies, including Foxconn and Hisense, as well as numerous research institutions and universities.
