The renowned lantern fair held each year in Zibo city – in East China's Shandong province – was recently given the national appellation of being a "hometown of Chinese folk culture and art" by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
That's in the wake of Zibo's successful moves in recent years to develop its lantern economy and tourism resources, enriching the tourism experience of visitors.
The Zhangdian district of Zibo has since 2017 explored the integrated development of intangible cultural heritage, represented by the Yudai Lake scenic area and Zibo's lanterns. In the process, it is said to have achieved the perfect mix of culture and tourism. [Photo/zbnews.net]
