Market fairs in Zibo city, located in East China's Shandong province, are now filled with the Chinese New Year's atmosphere as the Spring Festival holiday fast approaches.

Local featured products such as Zhoucun sesame seed cakes, Boshan crisp meat pots and Mata Lake duck eggs are all on sale.

Recently, five Zibo brands – Zhoucun sesame seed cakes, Deyi's milk, Lutai Textile, Boshan kiwis and Qiao Daughter-in-law Food's soy sauce – were selected in the first batch of the Lunar New Year's food in Shandong.

The local authorities in Zibo have also issued a series of Lunar New Year's gift packages which contain over 40 products from more than a dozen local food brands. Goods in the package include prepared dishes, cooked food, agricultural and sideline products and snacks.
With a real festive vibe now in the city, strolling around the street fairs is one of the most beloved activities for locals. A New Year's food fair will be held from Jan 6 to Feb 5 at the New World Commercial Street, every day from 10 am to 9 pm.
