Zibo city – located in East China's Shandong province – on July 9 established its first community-based library, Qinghe Library, offering a precious space just for reading to locals.
The Qinghe study room, the second study room next to Qisheng Lake in central Zibo, was also unveiled. It is connected to the new library.
Covering an area of 150 square meters, the library consists of reading areas for children and adults and a self-study area. There are more than 30 seats for reading, 18 seats for self-study and a collection of more than 3,600 books.

The library is equipped with a self-service borrowing machine, an attendance and access system and an automatic management system.
In addition, it is connected to other libraries such as the municipal library and mobile service cars, making it easier for locals to borrow and return books.
The opening of Qinghe Library reflects Zibo's success in picking up the pace for it to become a "Five Good" city – a great place for studying, sightseeing, tasting delicious food, fun and business startups.
