Swan Lake in Zibo's Gaoqing county is what is known as an "international slow city". It was named that by Cittaslow, an international movement founded in Italy in 1999, which aims to preserve leisurely and environmentally friendly lifestyles in small towns around the world. It is a AAA-level national tourism attraction.
It has a planned area of 40 square kilometers and a wetland area of more than 3.33 sq km. It integrates natural and cultural resources of wetlands, hot springs and villages alongside the Yellow River to create a comprehensive resort for getting close to nature and science popularization.
