As the first national-level forest park in Zibo city – located in East China's East Shandong province and approved by the Chinese Ministry of Forestry in 1992, Yuanshan National Forest Park was also one of the first batch of national AAAA-level scenic spots, national key scenic spots and was recognized as a China Forest Cultural and Educational Base. It was also recognized for being a "Civilization of Chinese Youth" and has been a recipient of provincial awards for the Top 10 New Attractions and the Top 10 Forest Parks.
It has five scenic spots – including the Phoenix, Yuwang, Wanglu, Xuejiading and the Jiagutai mountains with more than 120 peaks.
Its richness in vegetation – as well as its ancient, exotic and precious tree species – coupled with beautiful mountains and waters and its temples, have attracted visitors from home and abroad.
