Located 55 kilometers away from the urban area of Zibo, Tanxi Mountain Scenic Area stands at an altitude of 867 meters with a planned area of nine square kilometers. The scenic area is covered in rich vegetation with a forest coverage rate of more than 80 percent, and the content of negative oxygen ion in the air reaches up to 220,000 per cubic centimeter. It is richly endowed by nature as a "natural oxygen bar".
With its amazing natural landscape and splendid cultural relics, the area has won recognitions as an AAAA attraction, a national forest park, a national water conservancy attraction and a provincial geopark. It has distinct charm at all seasons. Mountain flowers are in full bloom in spring; streams are murmuring in summer; intoxicating red leaves are all over the mountain in autumn; and a world covered with snow appears in winter.
