During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Tai'an in East China's Shandong province has implemented a holistic strategy to integrate its cultural and tourism resources, achieving significant progress in revitalizing the sector. Taishan Mountain has welcomed over 8 million visitors annually for three consecutive years, earning the city national recognition.

Driven by supportive policies, the number of cultural and tourism enterprises has risen significantly. High-star hotels have more than doubled, and high-quality homestays and travel agencies have expanded rapidly.

The city has boosted its cultural appeal through new landmarks like the Dawenkou National Archaeological Park, restored historical sites, and immersive cultural-tourism complexes. The "Taiyouli" city gift series and mascots have increased brand visibility.

Upgrades at Taishan Mountain Scenic Area include full 5G coverage and smart facilities like robotic dogs and exoskeletons, enhancing the visitor experience. New hiking routes, nightscape lighting, and dynamic performances further enrich the offerings. Music festivals and concerts have increased visitor numbers and hotel occupancy.

By connecting attractions through themed corridors and a dedicated tourism platform, Tai'an has strengthened regional cooperation and launched multi-destination routes, promoting shared growth across the area.
