The 2022 Shandong Red Culture Month kicked off in Linyi, East China's Shandong province on June 30, aiming to boost the development of the province's Red tourism.

Red tourism, which focuses on tours that explore the history of the CPC before the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, has grown tremendously during the past few years.

Shandong has many Red tourism sites, including the Yimeng Revolution Memorial Hall and the East China Cemetery of Revolutionary Martyrs in Yimeng. The provincial government has attached great importance to the protection and inheritance of red culture, and launched a slew of supportive measures to promote the high-quality development of Red tourism in Shandong.

A number of Red culture-themed activities got underway during the opening ceremony of the event, and a total of 229 online activities will also be held at the same time, including featured exhibitions, classic Peking Opera concerts related to Red culture, as well as children's dramas, aiming to present a wonderful audio-visual feast to the public.
