Enjoy splendid scenery at Yellow River estuary
From a bird's-eye perspective, the Yellow River estuary in Dongying, East China's Shandong province, displays spectacular scenery with the power of the surging tide, which looks like towering trees.
The trunks of these tidal-fed streams are strong, with branches extending out to the sides. The shape resembles that of a large tree. The lovely environment is created by the constant scouring caused by the rise and fall of the river tide.
The Yellow River estuary is located within the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve, which has become a haven for migratory birds such as white cranes, red-crowned cranes, oriental white storks, and wild geese. Visitors can enjoy the stunning panorama created by the blue sky, green water, and migratory birds.
The Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve covers about 153,000 hectares, with the wetland making up over 70 percent of the total area. The wetland is now home to 1,630 species of wild animals and 685 species of plants. Among the animals, the number of bird species has increased to 371 from 187, according to information provided by the reserve.
