The launch ceremony for the 2021 Shandong Autumn Consumption Season campaign was held in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, on Sept 18.

Li Ganjie, governor of Shandong, hosted the ceremony, while Wang Wentao, China's Minister of Commerce, and Liu Jiayi, Party chief of Shandong, delivered speeches. 

"The campaign aims to give full play to the leading role of commercial carriers, such as pedestrian streets and business districts, to stimulate the consumer market and release consumption potential," said Wang.

"Great importance has been attached to promote the integration of domestic and foreign trade activities, with a focus on high-quality products, superior services, and preferential benefits," he added. 

A variety of activities were also held at the launch ceremony to promote consumption in cities including Zibo, Zaozhuang, and Linyi. Attendees also visited the exhibition areas after the ceremony.

"This campaign will introduce better consumption policies, continuously improve people's consumption ability, and make greater contributions to the new dual circulation development pattern," said Liu.
