The fifth China Time-Honored Brand (Shandong) Expo will be held in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, from Aug 19 to 21, the local government announced at a news conference held on June 17.

This year's event will have an exhibition area of 23,000 square meters. Eight themed exhibition areas will be set up to display products like food, medicine, famous wine and tea, as well as intangible cultural heritage items.

More than 600 enterprises from 25 provinces and cities will exhibit more than 8,000 products. A broadcasting week event focusing on time-honored brands to boost online marketing will be a highlight at the expo.

A food street exhibition area featuring Shandong delicacies will be set up to display famous snacks in China, especially in Shandong province. China's top 50 snack enterprises are expected to attend, including Yang's Braised Chicken Rice.

The China Time-Honored Brand (Shandong) Expo has been serving as a professional exchange platform for time-honored brands from across the country and has played a key role in stimulating consumption, officials said.

A total of 612 enterprises from 25 provinces and cities participated in the expo last year, generating 21.67 million yuan ($3.36 million) in on-site sales.
