Shandong Library to observe World Book Day
Shandong Library will launch a series of reading promotion activities to celebrate World Book Day, which is also known as the International Day of the Book, on April 23.
As this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, the library's activities will be themed on CPC history education.

From mid-April to early May, a total of 29 themed activities will be carried out on both online and offline channels, the library said.
The much-anticipated 16th Shandong Provincial Reading and Recitation Competition was launched in late March. The final for the adult amateur group will be held on April 24. The award ceremony will be held the next day.
The Shandong Library will launch the "Red Reading Alliance" and promote the reading of classics related to the revolution in libraries across the province.
The move is designed to promote learning and education among youth so as to pass on the traditions of revolution through the generations.
The Nishan Academy of Shandong Library has since this month invited domestic experts in red literature research to give lectures on the Party's history and theories.
The Shandong Library will also launch a series of activities to promote children's reading.
