Qingdao reports trade growth with BRI partner countries
Qingdao Customs data shows that in the first 10 months of this year, the city's imports and exports to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) reached 378.97 billion yuan ($52.18 billion), accounting for 50.2 percent of the city's total foreign trade volume during the same period. Among them, exports grew by 10.7 percent, which is 2.7 percentage points higher than the national average.
Automobiles are one of the main products exported by Qingdao to BRI countries. Statistics show that in the first 11 months, Qingdao Dagang Port exported a total of 62,400 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 39.29 percent.
During this time of the year, with the golden and fatty crab roe, the hairy crabs have become a seasonal delicacy in the Dubai market. Recently, over 400 kilograms of live Chinese mitten crabs were transported by air to Dubai consumers' tables.
Due to the perishable nature of fresh goods and the quality standards of the international market, the export of hairy crabs is highly time sensitive.
"This year, orders for hairy crabs increased significantly, and exports reached a new high, with higher requirements for storage and transportation," said Luan Jia, a manager at Qingdao Bondex Logistics Co Ltd.
"The hairy crabs are loaded at the production site, transported by land to Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, and can reach the destination's fresh market a day after customs clearance," said Luan.
To ensure the fresh export of products, Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Customs fully leverages the green channel for the import and export of fresh and perishable agricultural products, ensuring fast inspection and quick release for the fresh agricultural products.
Sang Zhenhua, head of the logistics supervision section of Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Customs, said, "In response to the particularity of different fresh products, we provide personalized supervision services based on different categories of products, setting up tailored supervision plans and operational procedures to facilitate rapid customs clearance."
