Jimo district locates in the north of Qingdao, with an area of 1,780 square kilometers. 

It was first established as a county in Qin Dynasty and turned into a city in Sui Dynasty, creating a history of more than 1,400 years. 

Jimo district has one provincial-level economic development zone, one provincial-level hitech industrial development zone and one provincialtourism and resort zone. 

According to the Report on China's County Economy (2016) issued by Chinese Academy of Social Studies, the basic competitiveness of Jimo ranks No 1 in Shandong and No 9 in China.
