Pingdu
Pingdu, the largest county-level city in Shandong province, has a total area of 3,176 square kilometers on the northwest of Qingdao.
It was approved to be a pilot city for the national integrated reform of small and medium-sized city in March 2015. It has rich graphite, gold and talcum reserves, and is the only city in the country with the outputs of grain, edible oil, meat and fruit ranking among the top 100 cities.
It has won the honor of “National Advanced County in Crop Production” for 11 consecutive years.
With 18 products of geographical indication, including Majiagou celery and Dazeshan grape, Pingdu has been designated as one of the first national modern agriculture model zones. The scale of its four industrial clusters of machinery parts, household electric and electronic appliances, food processing and specialty chemicals are worthy of over hundreds of billions.
Centering on the target to build Pingdu into a rising modernized key regional town, Pingdu will speed up the construction of itself as a base of advanced manufacturing of north Qingdao, an inland port of logistics distribution in Shandong Peninsula, a recreational countryside resort and a national modern agriculture model zone.
