The opening ceremony was recently held for the Hisense Middle East and Africa Research and Development Center, located in Dubai.

The Middle East and Africa region is one of the fastest-growing markets for Hisense and covers 74 countries and regions with a total population of 1.48 billion, offering immense development prospects.

The comprehensive Hisense R&D center in Dubai covers functions for products such as air conditioners, televisions, refrigerators, freezers, and washing machines, and plans to carry out projects to increase energy efficiency and promote environmental sustainability. The center will also serve as a training academy for Hisense's regional sales and service teams and partners.

Zeng Zanrong, Party secretary of Qingdao, stated that the United Arab Emirates is an important partner in the Belt and Road Initiative. In recent years, Qingdao has maintained strong economic and trade cooperation with the UAE, with bilateral trade reaching 14.9 billion yuan ($2.12 billion) in 2023.

Zeng expressed hope that Hisense Group will comprehensively implement its globalization strategy, make good use of both domestic and international markets and resources, continuously strengthen technological, product, and model innovation, and further enhance its global brand influence.

"The establishment of the Hisense Middle East and Africa R&D Center not only represents Hisense's long-term commitment to deepening its presence in Dubai and the Middle East and Africa, but also demonstrates Hisense's determination to get closer with customers and provide higher-quality products and services. This year, Hisense's revenue in the Middle East and Africa is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan, an 18-percent increase compared to the previous year," said Jia Shaoqian, chairman of Hisense.

During the event, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hisense Egypt factory was also held.

"Hisense is also rapidly expanding its presence in countries such as Nigeria, Angola, Algeria, and Morocco, cooperating to build multiple production lines or new factories," Jia said.
