The 16th Qingdao International Sailing Week and the Qingdao International Marine Festival kicked off in the coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province on Sept 7.

The event aimed at promoting the development of marine sports. It is expected that through this exchange activity, more cooperative achievements will be reached for the development of maritime sports, and that innovative approaches will inspire more vitality for progress.

Representatives from more than 10 international associations and cities, including the World Sailing Federation, and the Polish Sailing Association, as well as representatives from the South Africa's Western Cape province, the city government of Kiel in Germany, and the city of Dunedin in New Zealand, attended the meeting to share experiences.

The event served as a platform for international cooperation to promote deep integration between Qingdao and international organizations and cities. The success of the event not only provided a way for delegates to exchange experiences and share best practices, but also revitalized the internationalization of sports development in Qingdao.
