Created from scratch in 1994, Qingdao's symphony orchestra has gone from strength to strength. The 30th-anniversary concert celebrating the development of Qingdao's symphonic music industry over the decades was held at the Qingdao Grand Theatre on July 10.

The concert featured renowned violinist Lyv Siqing performing the "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai" violin concerto with the Qingdao Song and Dance Theater Symphony Orchestra.

In May 1994, during the debut performance of Qingdao's first symphony orchestra, Lyv, at the age of 25, collaborated with the hometown symphony orchestra to perform this classic piece. Today, 30 years later, Lyv returned to his hometown to once again perform "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai," spanning three decades of musical history and witnessing the roots, growth, and flourishing of the Qingdao symphonic music industry.

Over the past 30 years, Qingdao's symphonic music has played a significant role in enriching the cultural lives of its residents, enhancing artistic literacy, promoting the city's image, and facilitating both domestic and international cultural exchanges.

It has become a microcosm of the development of Qingdao's cultural industry and the continuous enhancement of the city's soft power, serving as the main force behind the formation of the city's cultural brand as the "Island of Music." As cultural ambassadors of the city, Qingdao's symphonic music has ventured beyond Qingdao, connecting with the international community and allowing both China and the world to hear the melodies of Qingdao's symphonic music.
