Laoshan Bay has successfully integrated its natural beauty, cultural tourism industry, marine aquaculture industry, and strength in marine science and technology to ensure their coordinated development by implementing high-caliber governance and conservation measures.

Laoshan Bay is strengthening the integrated management of land and sea. Sewage discharged into the sea is regulated in line with standardized requirements in the bay. Rural domestic wastewater is effectively treated and monitored online. Due to these efforts, water quality in the near-shore areas has been at 100 percent for the past five years. Furthermore, Laoshan Bay is making efforts to enhance its biodiversity and ecosystem conservation. It has launched a preservation inventory for famous ancient trees, introduced a forest chief scheme, established the National Laoshan Forest Park and implemented effective measures to control forest pests. Thirdly, Laoshan Bay is committed to implementing ecological restoration initiatives. It has established a real-time reporting system for monitoring these famous ancient trees in the Laoshan Mountain region. It has launched rescue and rehabilitation projects specifically aimed at protecting these trees. Moreover, it has undertaken cleanup and compensation for over 1,200 mu (about 0.8 km2) of mudflat aquaculture sites.
