The Qingdao International Cruise Terminal project has begun construction, set to rejuvenate the century-old port with state of the art facilities and projects related to cruise shipping, trade, finance, and tourism.
On March 28, 2020, the project plan was released, featuring five major areas including a cruise terminal, an ocean exploration section, as the start-up area.
Over the last few years, the industrial layout of the start-up area has been optimized and upgraded.
The area now features three major projects: the "Eyes of the World", which will be a maritime tourism center; the shipping center, which will gather enterprises related to the headquarters economy and the financial service sector; and a training base, which will focus on culture, education, and scientific research.
According to the plan, the start-up area will complete construction by 2026. More than 600 workers are now working to ensure that the project progresses according to schedule.
