The eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province held a promotional event during the third Conference of Great Business Partners, which was held in the provincial capital Jinan, focusing on the city's investment environment, relevant key industrial chains, as well as its urban renewal and urban construction efforts.

The event was attended by a number of government officials, as well as senior representatives from Fortune Global 500 companies and large-scale multinational corporations.

At the promotional event, agreements on 10 projects were signed, with a total investment of 34.7 billion yuan ($5.05 billion), covering such industrial fields as new-generation information technology, high-end equipment, integrated circuits, new energy, new materials, digital economy, and modern logistics.

According to a senior official from Qingdao, the city has been ramping up efforts to build itself into an international innovation-oriented metropolis, a global financial and transportation hub, a model city for modern governance, as well as a high-quality coastal city suitable for living, working, and tourism.

The rapid development of Qingdao has provided a broad market and created a good development environment for enterprises and investors, said the official, adding that the Qingdao government is looking forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with entrepreneurs in real economy development, urban renewal and construction, sci-tech innovation, as well as foreign trade.

Qingdao is also working to build a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized first-class business environment to attract more entrepreneurs to invest, start a business, and prosper in Qingdao.
