Qingdao's first offline special recruitment event for foreign trade enterprises since 2020 was held on March 15, with more than 40 high-quality foreign trade enterprises offering nearly 500 positions.
In addition, more than 1,100 positions were posted on the online recruitment platform, attracting a large number of job seekers.
"I haven't participated in an offline job fair for a long time. This time, we brought 10 positions to attract talents interested in exploring the international market," said the human resource manager surnamed Lyu from Qingdao Yimei Fashion International Trade Co, which focuses on the design planning and production of knitted clothing, while mainly engaging in trade with Japan.
Qingdao Weitai Hydraulic Co, a local high-tech company that mainly focuses on supplying North America with high-quality cost-efficient OEM hydraulic solutions, has opened branches in the United States, Russia, Germany, and other countries.
According to its human resource manager surnamed Zhang, Weitai is recruiting talent in foreign trade with the new requirement of "using foreign social media platforms to independently develop customers."
"The epidemic has reshaped the foreign trade industry, and it is equally important to find customer resources online and offline," said Zhang.
Cross-border e-commerce has become the preferred path for transformation and upgrading of many traditional foreign trade companies in Qingdao.
At the job fair, one third of foreign trade enterprises offered recruitment positions like foreign trade operators, e-commerce operation specialists, and foreign trade platform operations, while several enterprises advertised positions that required potential employees to be able to speak Spanish, Russian, and other languages for livestreaming sales.
