Qingdao's intelligent manufacturing sector has witnessed booming development in recent years, and the industrial chain of intelligent manufacturing equipment in the city has exceeded 100 billion yuan ($14.07 billion).

According to the three-year action plan for the high-quality development of the industrial chain, Qingdao will further strengthen, supplement and extend the industrial chain by introducing high-quality projects as well as cultivate local enterprises. More efforts will be made to promote the integration and upgrading of the industrial chain of intelligent manufacturing equipment in Qingdao.

By 2024, the industrial chain scale of Qingdao's intelligent manufacturing equipment is expected to exceed 130 billion yuan, making the city an important industrial base of intelligent manufacturing equipment in China.

Among the six listed Qingdao-based companies on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, three specialize in the intelligent manufacturing equipment industry.

"In the next few years, Qingdao will combine its own industrial development foundation, focus on robotics, high-end CNC machine tools, intelligent complete sets of equipment and other fields, to promote the development of the intelligent manufacturing equipment industry," a local official said.
