Jiaozhou fuels SCO zone development

Jiaozhou, a county-level city in Qingdao, Shandong province has set up a special working team to promote the high-quality development of the China-SCO demonstration zone.
The China-SCO demonstration zone, located in the Jiaozhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, was designed to build a platform for international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and develop collaborations in logistics, trade, investment, tourism and culture.
In the first nine months of this year, 570 China-Europe freight trains were launched in the China-SCO demonstration zone, up 41.4 percent year-on-year. Fifteen projects were signed in the zone, and its trade with SCO countries reached 4.9 billion yuan ($689.43 million), an increase of 86.5 percent.
Jiaozhou has a solid foundation for developing the real economy. It has 31 of 41 national industrial categories, more than 15,000 registered industrial enterprises and more than 220,000 market players.
The city is the largest marine boiler production base in Asia, a well-known steel structure production base at home and abroad, and the largest and most advanced digital tire equipment base in China. Jiaozhou is also striving to build an international industrial internet innovation demonstration zone.
Jiaozhou plans to give full play to the advantages of its industrial base to support the high-quality development of the China-SCO demonstration zone, according to local officials.
